I love the drum seq module. It would be cool if there was an easier way to do polyrhythmic sequences without having to use multiple sequencer objects. being able to set the number of steps, and length of each sequence independently for each row would be great, maybe cluttered for people who just want to do xox beats... maybe in the advanced settings, or a new module?
for example: row #1: 1 bar (16) 1/16th notes. row #2: 1 bar (6) 1/6th notes. row #3: 7/8ths of a bar (14) 16th notes. row #4: 1 bar (5) 5th notes. row #5: 9/8ths of a bar (18) 16th notes. some of them phasing out of sync, some of them in-sync. Independent sync/reset inputs in the back for each row could be awesome too . Anyway, doing this new would require 5 separate gateseq's + 5 velocity seq's, or, 5 mononotes. That's a lot of modules! Thanks! |

If you only need one gate time and velocity and no other features, you can use just a velocity seq + note gen for each drum. Connect the velocity out to the gate and velocity inputs of the note gen, and adjust the note output on the note gen to match your drum channel. Then you can just minimize the note gen to simplify things.

Still, you can only see so many velocity seqs at a time without scrolling.
Height zoom setting per module would be a cool feature here. |

There used to be a height setting for the ControlSeq, so I'll take that as a request to put it back in. I'm also guessing that you'd like a way to hide the "timing row" settings in the drum seq. However, you can at least set the number of tracks per drum module (1-8).
Having different pattern length adjustments within the sequencer is pretty much not an option, as along with the current step and sequence length, the start step and end step settings are at the core of the sequencing algorithm, so you can't really split that out without creating a whole 'nother sequencer, which begins to defeat the purpose of being modular. thanks jim and kodama for the replies. I hadn't realized that the velocity seq could be used for producing midi gates and velocities at once! That's very useful. And yes, it would be great if there could be a way to adjust the height that the control seq's use on screen, so there could be more stuff to fit on screen, thanks!
In fact, screen space is somewhat of an issue, I guess, in numerology, especially in the patching window. The different modules take a pretty generous amount of screen space and once you move beyond simple "stacking," it's hard to see all of what is going on because the vertical space gets used up very quickly compared to any other modular type-system i've used. (not to mention nearly all screens are much wider than they are tall these days). Not sure if there is an easy fix for this. Anyhow, just a minor gripe there...
