Default multi outs

hello

i use plug ins with multi outs - like xfer nerve as an example -or micro tonic -

if i want my high hat to come out a separate channel then the kick, i assign it in nerve to come out of 3-4 output (as an example)

but then how do i route this in numerology to come out its own strip?

is that possible?

thanks

N4 Pro allows you to setup multiple outputs as provided by each AU -- within some limits (N4 doesn't support more than 2 channels per audio port). To get those outs to separate physical outs (or other stacks), use the Audio Out modules.

Jim

hey jim.. is this still the best way to do this?

somehow i've not used multi out plug ins in Numerology yet.. anyway.. using NI Battery if i want to route 8 different drum sounds to their own outputs for later recording in Live on their own tracks...

seems convoluted to create 8 audio out modules then send them to their own stack/fader in the mixer then their own output in of N4 then into Live..

is there a simpler solution (probably right under my nose)?

That is still the recommended option. If you're doing your main mix in Live, then the natural solution is to host Battery in Live as well, that avoids all the extra routing work.

it's something i started in N4... but will probably end up doing some edits in live so was wanting to just record into live... perhaps i can reconfigure things somewhat... i weary of losing the groove from N4.

If you just want to get the drums split across multiple audio files, you could setup the group to record, then do a few recording passes, muting different outs at a time.
