Default Matte display article and petition

AppleInsider has an interesting article out about the possibility of Apple offering more macbooks with matte displays, of which I am a big fan. The article is here:

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...more_macs.html

The referenced online petition is here:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/38djhak2/petition.html

I expect a fair number of you are mac users, and probably many of you also prefer matte displays...

Cheers,
Jim

Pretty foolish attempting to foist glossy on the design community on the pretext of "colour pop".

That's akin to persuading a producer to use a hi-fi setup as monitors.

Well Macbook Pro is becoming Macbook Snob lately, it seems. Isn't it much better to stare at your own reflection than to get work done? :-)

I'm glad to have still picked up a 15" with ExpressCard/34 slot - which they have replaced with a freaking SD card slot on the latest models.
That's just *so* professional, replacing the possibility to connect your pro audio/video interfaces with the possibility to instantly load those family snaps into iPhoto.

The matte / anti-glare display option for 15" macbook pros has been restored. It is being reported pretty much everywhere, though I saw it first on ars technica:

Yay!

Isn't it funny how 'glossy' used to be $50 extra, now 'matte' is $50 extra? (Dis)economies of scale can hardly explain the whole story...

Now bring back the ExpressCard/34 slot as well, and we can really call the 15" a Pro again.

I bought my matte 17-inch MBP the very day they announced they were going to all-glossy screens. For photo editing and design work, glossy is actively counterproductive. It makes you work worse.

I'm glad to see one of Apple's worst design decisions ever is being at least partially reversed.
