Default Num 4 feature request: curves in mod seq

Hi Jim,

this is probably already on a to-do list. But consider it a +1. I'd love to be able to define a specific curve between each point on a modulation sequencer. Basically remove the Linear/Stepped mode and the Slew control (these would be redundant), and allow a curve to be defined between each point (a variable exp/log curve, S curve, straight, etc), or be able to remove the curve altogether (making it stepped). behavior wise it would be similar to the multi-env in Zebra.

This would be spectacular!

I'd love that feature too !

Anyway, you can already cheat a bit and have some curves in N3.

It's less flexible than what you request obviously, but you can go quite deep that way, for example if you modulate the FaderBox glide...

I would like a more MSEG type modulation sequencer option
as well. BTW, you can choose a stepped version of the
sequencer in the options that open with the triangle on the
lower left. You can choose either linear or stepped there.

If I remember correctly, I had mocked up a version of the ModSeq where every transition had a "curve amount" parameter, so I'd probably go that route, though perhaps also with a "curve type" option as well...

Cheers,
Jim

Jim, you should have a look at the way Reaper handles bezier curve (in automation lanes at least), using just one slider to change the going from -1 to 1 to change its shape.

That's the basic idea -- I think Absynth uses something similar as well...

Cheers,
Jim

I, for one would love a sequencer with editable, interpolated curves. Bonus if it is capable of running at audio rate.

Audio rate FMing of your sequencer. Interesting.
