Hello,
If you like a littlebit more graphical interface for your sequencer try this: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~cema/nodal/ Nodal is a generative software application for composing music Nodal cames with a folder of demos that you can see whats possible. You can also find some papers and some mp3 there. Sometimes I use Nodal and feed the MIDI from there via IAC buss to Numerology for further processing and mangeling or just modulate the Numerology sequences with it. Its a very differend kind of sequencing. best jue |

Thanks for the link to this, it looks like a very interesting and esoteric sequencer. Like something out of MIT. But looks straightforward to use.

Yeah, I saw the announcement for this a while back, and tried it out.
It is very interesting and some of the demo projects are impressive (once you manage to assign instruments etc.). But when I tried to create something from scratch, I found it less than practical. The graphical layout is very good for expressing rhythm, but there are no visual cues about the melodic structure, making it end up a bit one-sided. Very pretty, but one-sided. |
