Hello
here some information to all were we come from and we will see that we are a little late in time. The 'Wall of Sound,' an electro-mechanical sequencer designed & built by Raymond Scott, 1950s (New York) http://RaymondScott.com/1946.htm and the circle machine here: http://RaymondScott.com/circle.html and the ELECTRONIUM here: http://RaymondScott.com/Electron.html Here the words of Robert Moog visiting the studio of Raymond Scott in the mid 1950s: °So there my father and I were with our mouths hanging open! It looked like heaven to me.° Nothing more to say best jue Last edited by jue; 11-27-2008 at 10:37 PM. Reason: ELECTRONIUM link added |

Thank you Jue,
I found these links to be very interesting. Wish the descriptions of the devices were much more detailed is all. |

I've often had the same thoughts myself, but my guess is that the circle machine itself is a very straightforward device. For more an esoteric circle-based sequencer that is better documented, check out the Buchla 250e (http://buchla.com/series200e.html).
Cheers, Jim |
