Default Cartesian Sequencers

Hello,
was asked about this some were else, so here it is:

The Cartesian Sequencers
Think of 16 notes of a sequence that were placed on a four to four grid of a Cartesian Coordinate System.
Information about this could be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartesi...rdinate_system.
So you got a 4 steps and four lines system which opens a lot of possibilities to play back the notes beside to play them in line from one to sixteen like a normal sequencer does. Now its only a question of a map to step thru the possible notes.
There are lots of variations of the basic idea with some bigger grids and different sorts of playback modes in hard- and software.

Here are some examples on a four to four grid basis:

CartesianSeq 01 by jue
Within the CartesianSeq 01 there is a GateSeq-1 that acts as a masterclock and the GateSeq-2 and GateSeq-3 were the divisors from there. The GateSeq-2 triggers the ModulationSeq-1 for the step count were the GateSeq-3 triggers the ModulationSeq-2 for the line count. The signal from ModulationSeq-1 and the ModulationSeq-2 are summed at the ParaMod-1 that modulates the currend step of the IntervalSeq-1. At this IntervalSeq-1 you could set your needed pitches, for the moment there are values from -8 to 7 only for demonstration.
Preset-1 shows the straight note sequence, the other Presets are only changed at the GateSeqs the pitches at the IntervalSeq-1 are the same.
The last Preset has a new setting in the IntervalSeq-1 as another exsample.

CartesianSeq 02 by jue
Within the CartesianSeq 02 there is a GateSeq-1 that acts as a masterclock or divisor and triggering the ModulationSeq-1 were the CastesianMap from the modul folder of the ModulationSeq could be loaded. The signal from there goes to the ParaMod-1 that modulates the currend step of the IntervalSeq-1, here you could set your needed pitches, for the moment there are values from -8 to 7 only for demonstration.
Enclosed you will find some CartesianMaps as ModulationSeq Modul Presets, to use them you have to copy them into your ModulationSeq Modul Presets folder, then you can load them with the load modul preset menue. They are documented in the textfile with the map and the resulting sequence.

CartesianSeq 03 by jue
This project shows what happens when the line and the row values were added together when the sequencer plays. Because it needs two IntervalSeqs the notes have to be set in the Remote Stack.

CartesianSeq 04 by jue
This project shows what happens when the small rows or lines played together in any form, you could activate any numbers of rows or lines by selecting the stack and activate them. In the Notes Stack you set the notes and the gates in the Gates Stack. At the top of the Row and Line stacks there is a Remote to controll for each stack.

Thank you jue!
again your generous sharing of a project is so inspiring for developing more complex patches. I think I will look into using Numerology also for triggering Supercollider synths and not only my hardware.
